Village
life

Situated directly on the Western shore of the emerald green Achensee Lake, on an altitude of 952 m, Pertisau is nestling between the rugged mountains of the nature reserve Karwendel.

Three valleys and pastures framed by woods are gentling rising far into the mountains where 2’000 m high peaks are towering into the sky forming the valley’s end.

Since the middle of the 19th century tourism has been developing in this picturesque village which is also the starting point and destination of the Achensee cruise ships. The fleet includes three state-of-the-art passenger vessels equipped with the very latest technology and provides space for up to 500 persons. Cruising Dinners can be held up to 300 people.

An unique specialty of the area is the Tyrolean shale oil (Tiroler Steinöl®), produced from oil shale since 1902 on an altitude of 1’500 m above the Achensee Lake and used for cosmetic and medical products.

Genuine Tyrolean traditions combined with Austrian hospitality make this village the ideal venue for meetings and congresses. Hold your meeting in a bathing house at the “Wiesenhof” or the “Fischergut” or enjoy a rustic evening event in the Gramai mountain hut which is spectacularly located at the foot of a 700 m high rock face.

Here, in Pertisau we have already made happen a pharmaceutical group’s kick-off event for 1,200 people.
