Most people first think of skiing and hiking holidays when they hear about “Engelberg-Titlis”. What many people don’t know is that the monastery village Engelberg has also made a name for itself as a destination for meetings and congresses of all kind.

Situated in the very heart of Switzerland, 25 kilometers South of Lake Lucerne, in a wide valley on an altitude of about 1’000 m, Engelberg is the alpine event destination in central Switzerland that can be reached most quickly.

Characterised by the Benedictine monastery founded in 1’120, the region has a long and rich history. The surrounding mountain scenery is dominated by the 3’238 Titlis glacier as well as by the 2’600 m high Hahnen Mountain.

Neither the amazing local municipality nor the naming itself are commonplace. According to the myth the founder of the monastery had heard the voices of angels while looking for a name. When looking up he saw a choir of angels playing a concert above the local mountain “Hahnen”. From then on the monastery and adjacent settling were to be called Engelberg.

Engelberg offers ideal conditions to explore new perspectives far away from the everyday work. Depending on the requirements the event can be perfectly organised outdoors, in a mountain hut, in the Kursaal of Engelberg or in the event hall “Sporting Park”.

The energy village Engelberg has been continuously promoting an efficient use of energy, climate protection, renewable energies as well as environmentally compatible mobility.
